PT Adaro Indonesia through its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program has disbursed Rp170 million fund to support the second phase of Kartu Balangan Pintar (KBP) or Smart Balangan Card program.
The assistance for the procurement of 135 packages of learning support including 84 packages for SD (elementary schools), 21 for Madrasah Ibtidaiyah or Islamic elementary school students, and 30 for SMP (junior high school) students.
The company's CSR Section Head Aan Nurhadi pointed out that Adaro's support for education in Balangan does not stop with KBP program.
"Adaro also has a scholarship program for Balangan students who want to continue their study to universities," he said in Paringin, Saturday.
The company has scheduled for March to again socialize scholarship where the recipients will receive tuition fees until graduate.

Balangan's Acting Assistant for Government and Public Welfare Ernawaty said KBP program was proof of the district government seriousness in developing education and Adaro continued to show it commitment to support this program.
Previously, Adaro provided One Uniform a Million Hope program assistance for elementary school students in Balangan.
Ernawati invited all element of society, including parents, to contribute in building character education for children at home.
Head of Balangan Education Office Abiji expressed his appreciation for Adaro's comitment as a form of collaboration to support improving the quality of education in the region.
"We hope this collaboration to continue to improve the quality of education in Balangan," he said.
Through the synergy of government, private sector, and society it is hoped that Kartu Balangan Pintar program woud be a concrete step to reduce the school dropout rate and encourage Balangan children to achieve a better education.
