PT Adaro Indonesia together with its partners through Adaro Foundation (YABN) is again carrying out program providing additional food (PMT) for toddlers to improve their nutritional status.

The program is targeting eight early childhood educations (PAUDs) in Balangan District, South Kalimantan, as a follow-up of an assessment at Adaro-assisted schools.

"The beneficiaries of the program are children with a below optimal nutritional status," explained the IHF Nutrition Program Facilitator, Wetha Exavarani Susanto, in Paringin, Saturday.

The additional food, in the form of milk, vitamin, and eggs, are provided for three months from October to December 2024 with a target of increasing toddlers' height and weight.

At a Rumah Pintar (Rumpin) early childhood education (PAUD) in Paringin, 10 toddlers with indications of not optimal nutritional status received the PMT assistance. 

Similar assistance were also provided for targeted children at Pembina Paringin Kindergarten, Al Istiqomah Kindergarten, Ikhtiar PAUD in Balida Village, Harapan Bangsa Kindergarten in Halong Village, Sejahtera Kindergarten in Juai Village, and Teratai Kindergarten.

"In addition to providing additional food, we also remind parents to implement approriate parentng pattern," Wetha said.

The Principal of Rumpin PAUD Paringin, Sarian, acknowledged there were still children with low nutritional status, from low height to below standard weight.

"In PAUD Rumpin 10 children's nutritional status is not optimal and this assistance program is expected to increase their weight and height," said Sarian.

One of the parents, Misrita, admitted that her child has difficulty easting vegetables and fish, so his physical condition is less than optimal.

"Alhamdulillah with this egg, milk, and vitamin assistance I hope will be able to increase his weight," she said.
