University of Lambung Mangkurat (ULM) has created electric car or EV for operation on campus. ULM produces two types of EV, offroad and golf, with the name Enggang.

"We are proud of the work of ULM's Faculty of Engineering students who successfully developing energy-saving and environmentally friendly electric car," said ULM Rector Professor Ahmad Alim Bachri in Banjarbaru, Sunday.

Rector said the car can reduce emissions and environmentally friendly because it uses battery-based propulsion or BEV (Battery Electric Vehicle).

He asked the Dean of Engieering Faculty Professor Iphan Fitrian Radam to encourage his students to mass produce EV through cooperation with automotive industry as needed.

"This offroad car and golf car must be in great demand by the public, especially business players such as resorts, hotels, villas, industrial estates, factories and others," he said.

Enggang car was created by the Mechanical Engineering Study Program Team involving one lecturer Akhmad Syarief, four technician, Zainal Arman Razak, M Rizqi Al Fajar, Dhanu Suryanta, Akhmad Febri Ramadhan, and five students Ali Ahmad Abdul Gafar, Egryanto Stepanus, Hanifudin, Muhammad Amin and Muhammad Arsyat.

The difference between the two Enggang EV, offroad has a passenger capacity of six people and golf eight people.

"Their upper trunk, front storage box, legs components, dimensions, tires and wheels are also different," explained Zainal Arman Razak.

The maximum speed is 40 km/hour with loading range of three hours and a recharging range of four to six hours.
