One of Adaro's fostered MSMEs, Gugah Selera, a producer of a variety of processed fish products, in Mantuail Village, Muara Harus Sub-district, Tabalong District, South Kalimantan, is very inspiring for other local business.

Beginning from 2016, the business continues to survive and develops rapidly with the main focus on patin (Pangasius sp.) and haruan (snakehead fish) processed products.

"The potential of local fish in Tabalong is quite high and it motivated me to start processed fish product business," said the owner of Gugah Selera UMKM (MSME), Rahmat Hidayat, here on Thursday.

From the sale of haruan fish cheese sticks, patin crackers, haruan crackers, siomay (dumplings), patin meatball and nugget, the turnover reached IDR217 million per year in 2023.

Gugah Selera's products are not only available at local minimarkets but also in demand at various events held by the Tabalong District Government offices up to the offices of the provincial government.

In a month, Dayat said, the demand for various haruan fish snacks reached 1,500 packs and around 200 packs of fish meatball and nugget.

It's not suprising that in one month the turnover he achieves reaches IDR23 million to IDR35 million.

This success does not only reflects Dayat's creativity and perseverence, but also provides inspiration for other MSMEs in Tabalong and the surroundings.

Gugah Selera continues to develop new ideas in processing fish products, hoping to continue to provide positive contribution to the local economy and being a good example.

Thanks to the assistance and coaching from Adaro since 2017, this business keeps on developing and can transform with the times.

Dayat acknowledged that Adaro's guidance through its social responsibility did not only provide training in product management and marketing. Adaro also helps expand its market reach.

This year, Gugah Selera was chosen to represent South Kalimantan in fish product competition in collaboration with the Tabalong Food Security, Fisheries, Food Crops and Horticulture Office (DKP2TPH).

Previously, Gugah Selera with its haruan fish cheese stick won second place at Adaro Spectapreneur 2017.
