PT Adaro Logistics (AL), through one of its subsidiaries PT Indonesia Multi-Purpose Terminal (IMPT), provided scholarship for 10 Nusantara Maritime Academy (AMNUS) Banjarmasin students to provide better educational opportunities.

President Director of PT IMPT Iwan Wiranto said that scholarship program is a form of the company's contribution in improving higher education in maritime sector in South Kalimantan. 

"This program helps ease the educational burden on students from poor families and maintain good relation between the company and the local universities," Iwan expounded in press release extended by Adaro Foundation (YABN) in Tabalong, Thursday, June 6, 2024.

Iwan said that AMNUS Banjarmasin with Commercial Shipping and Port Management study programs is one of main partners.

In 2023 batch 1 scholarships were provided to five students who excel academically and did not received other scholarships.

This year, PT IMPT again provided scholarships to five students who previously had received batch 1 scholarship.

The assistance were in the form of tuition fees, exam fees, living cost during the fifth semester and the scholarship recipients have the opportunity to intern at the Adaro Logistics business unit.

This is part of PT IMPT's CSR to strengthen relation with communities, especially in operational areas in management of floating port in Taboneo seawaters, Tanah Laut District, South Kalimantan. 

AMNUS Director Captain Moch Nurdin welcomed the scholarship program. In addition to ease their finalcial burden, it also motivated them to achieve higher academic achievement. 

"We hope that this collaboration to continue and getting stronger, so there are many more students can feel the benefits," said Nurdin.
