PT Saptaindra Sejati, a subsidiary of PT Adaro Energy Indonesia Tbk, carried out programs to provide jobs for local residents in Kalimantan in collaboration with the local manpower offices.

The programs includes Operator Preparation Program (OPP), Mechanic Preparation Program (MPP), and Tire Preparation Program (TPP) involving Manpower Offices of Tabalong, Balangan, Barito Timur and Barito Selatan.

In these programs, the company recruits high school and vocational school graduates to work at sites as mechanics, operators, and tiremen, Division Head SHE & External PT SIS Job site Adaro R. Agung Sarono informed in a statement in Jakarta, Tuesday.

From 2008 to 2023, as many as 3,290 local school graduates had passed selection and attended training, 2,980 of them worked at PT SIS.

“The local students recruitment is one of our leading program in developing the potential of the surrounding community. This is also a form of      thecompany's concern in supporting government to increase skilled and productive human resources who are ready to work,” said Agung.

Students who passed the selection will recieve training to have skills that are in accordance with the Adaro's operational standards and needs.

In Operator Preparation Program a number of stages must be passed, including in class training, 500 hours On Job Training, and operator with a work contract with certain agreed period (PKWT) system. If he performs well, he will be appointed as a permanen wmployee with a profession as an operator.

Then, if he perform well and according to the needs of the company, the employee has the opportunity to become instructo or a field supervisor.

One of graduates of SMKN 1 Tanjung Tabalong, majoring accounting, who participated in OPP 2008, Ryan Pamungkas,  told that he pursued a career at PT SIS from zero. He followeed training process until he became a professional employee who has the skills needed in  mining world after 15 years of work.

He said he gained many skills by carrying out his job, such as operating heavy equipment properly and correctly, productivity, and professional attitude, event the abilty of public speaking infron of many people. With these additional skills he was able to reach a career as an Instructor of Heavy Equipment.

“OPP Adaro at PT SIS really helps students in Kalimantan to have a better future and help improve the family economy,” said Ryan.
