The District Government of Tanah Bumbu, South Kalimantan, and the Stunting Reduction Acceleration Team (TPPS) held accordination meeting with related sectors to prepare for simultaneous intervention for stunting reduction, Thursday.

Head of Tanah Bumbu Women's Empowerment, Child Protection, Population Control and Family Planning Office (P3AP2KB) Erli Yuli Susanti said the meeting was a follow-up to Home Affairs Ministry's letter concerning the implementation of simultaneous intervention for stunting reduction.

"Many are involved in the meeting, including Assistant for Government Eka Saprudin, P3AP2KB and other SKPDs,  Religious Affairs Office, head of sub-districts, head of urban villages, heads of puskesmas," she said in Batulicin, Thursday.

The district government has scheduled to launch the simultaneous intervention at the third week of JUne 2024.

In the next few months, the stunting rate is targeted to change. All integrated service posts (posyandu) and mobilizers will be concentrated in the handling.

"If we need additional budhet, we will budget for it," she said.

Stunting, she pointed out, is a serious concern and focus of all. handling stunting has become a collective task, so it is necessary to build synergy and collaboration involving all parties to prevent stunting.

"The intervention is carried out by measuring and weighing todddlers with 100 percent coverage and through this simultaneous intervention it is expected the measurement will be on target and compehensive," she said. 

"The total toddlers in Tanah Bumbu has reached 26,387 and the number of stunted children is 830 with a prevalence of 3.15 percent based on electronic app-Community Based Nutrition Recording and Reporting (e-PPGBM)," she said.
