When the City of Banjarmasin rattled by a 4.7 magnitude earthquake, students of a public elementary school SDN 3 Sungai Bilu, were hurried up to go out of the building.
“The earthquake occurred for about seven seconds. The school master who was in a meeting outside immediately directed us via cellphone that the students study in the school yard waiting for the situation to stable,” said SDN 3 Sungai Bilu grade six teacher Delly Damayanti here, Tuesday.
A total of 129 students from grade one to grade six attended learning activities outside the school building to protect their safety.

“Even though the earthquake didn't last long, but we were worried that there would be danger to our students, so we took the initiative carry out learning activities outsiden the classroom,” she said.
According to her, the short time quake however had shocked several teachers, although there were no damage to the building, but they stayed out of the building waiting for the condition to return to calm.
For about 15 minutes the students studied outside. They returned to the classroom after the situation was stable after seeing the development of information on social media, she said.
Head of Geophysics Station of the Balikpapan BMKG Rasmid in a written statement said the tectonic earthquake occurred Tuesday morning around 09.22 Wita (Central Indonesia Time) centered on the land at a depth of 10 kilometers around 19 kilometers northeast of Banjar District, South Kalimantan.
