Banjarbaru, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - Minister of Social Affairs Khofifah Indar Parawansa optimistic that Indonesia is free from localization and place of forced prostitution in 2019 through a lockout by each local government.


"We certainly are optimistic, especially every local government aggressively in an attempt to close the immoral place in the region," said the Minister in Banjarbaru Sunday.

Her statement made after attending a declaration of refusal and closure of the practice of prostitution in Banjarbaru as a joint statement by mayor and local leaders.

Minister explained denial and closing of brothels and prostitution is a policy of local leaders, and the ministary support this attitude.

"Closing is the policy of head of the area and there is a proposal we immediately responded as it is appropriate with the Ministry of Social Affairs program to eliminate localization," she said.

According to her, data gathered by the ministry from social agencies in districts and cities there are 163 points of localization and prostitution scattered in various areas across Indonesia.

The latest data from the coordination with the local government there is a reduction to the remaining 99 points in May 2016 and again in early June reduced to 22 points.

"The number of localization keep reducing over time as regional heads close the immoral place, including in Banjarbaru where three points will be closed," she said.

Mayor Banjarbaru Nadjmi Adhani said discretion to close a place of prostitution is a manifestation of his vision and mission to run for the elections in the local town.

Three prostitution to be closed are Pal 18 on Jalan Ahmad Yani km 18 (already closed), then Pembatuan Dalam and Batu Besi at Jalan Ahmad Yani km 28.
