PT Indocement Tunggal Prakarsa Tbk (Indocement) has again won a Bisnis Indonesia Corporate Social Responsibility Awards (BISRA). This year Indocement received Platinum Champion in Corporate Social Responsibility Program for a category of Environmental Element.
Corporate Secretary of Indocement Dani Handajani congratulated all the winners of BISRA 2023, with the hope that this achievement would become a good example for companies throughout Indonesia.
"This award is a clear proof of Indocement's commitment to mitigating climate change by reducing the use of coal in production process and using environmentally friendly fuels," he said in press statement, Tuesday.
BISRA 2023 was organized in collaboration of Bisnis Indonesia Daily with Habitat for Humanity Indonesia. The awarding was held on Tuesday, August 15, 2023, at the Ballroom of Aryaduta Hotel, Jakarta.
Indocement Corporate Secretary Dani Handajani recevied the BISRA 2023 with the theme Corporate Social Responsibility Toward Climate Changes Mitigation. Indocement this year presented a paper entitled Energizing for a Greener Future.
This paper described Indocement's efforts to mitigate climate change, one of which by using alternative fuel such as rice husk, oil sludge, urban waste, used tires, sawdust, used packaging, and refused derived fuel (RDF).
Indocement has also invested in building RDF facilities such as feeding facility, shredder and mixing facility and the latest investment is a hot-disc facility. Indocement's investment value related to sustainability has reached more than IDR1 trillion in the last 5–6 years.
This sustainable steps were proof of Indocement's efforts to continue to increase its capacity and ability to use alternative fuels, This is in line with the company's target to use alternative fuel more than 40 percent of total fuel use.
Indocement also runs other programs such as #trashbackto collect used cement bags from consumers so they can be recycled, garbage alm program to encourage enviromentally friendly lifestyle for employees and SS45 program for partner-villages communities to recycle household waste.
Indocement is one of the largest cement producers in Indonesia. It produces Tiga Roda Cement and Rajawali Cement.
Currently, Indocement and its subsidiaries are engaged in several business which include the manufacture and sale of cement (as its core business) and ready-mix concrete, as well as aggregate and trass mining, with a total of 3,400 employees.
Indocement has 13 factories with a total annual production capacity of 25.5 million tones of cement.
