Coastal tourist destinations privately managed by residents along Teluk Gosong (Gosong Bay), Teluk Gosong Village, Pulau Laut Timur Sub-district, Kotabaru, South Kalimantan, need support from the local government, a legislator said.
Secretary of Commission III Kotabaru DPRD M Lutfi Ali was speaking when making a tour visit with family to the beach.
"Supporting facilities such as MCK or toilets and othersupporting facilities need to be improved for the convenience of visitors," he said in Kotabaru, as reported on Monday.
According to him, tourist attractions managed by residents deserve to be coastal tourist destinations that offer white sand and natural rocky expanses.
"Many villages have tourist attractions that need guidance so they can be managed properly, so they don't disappoint visitors," he said.
He also explained the need for village involvement through BUMDes (Village Owned Enterprises) to increase tourism in their respective villages in order to grow MSMEs in the community.
"With the growth of MSMEs, the economy in society will increase," he said.
M lutfi hopes that related parties and BUMDes will be able to grow and encourage new tourism that supports the regent's vision and mission, agribusiness and tourism.
