Banjarbaru, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - Mayor Banjarbaru Nadjmi Adhani stops issueing permit for modern stores to protect small businesses, both small shops and stalls.


"We stop the licensing of modern shop, because many small economic people who open stores or shops complaining," he said here on Monday.

He said, Banjarbaru began imposing a moratorium on permits for modern stores within undetermined time limit that the whole licensing process is stopped.

City Government could simply stop the process of licensing for new entrants, while permits have already been issued can not be revoked or discontinued.

"We forced to do moratorium of modern shop permit, because it is the most appropriate measures to protect economic run by society," he said.

Now a days 60 modern shops have been operating here at strategic locations in various corners of the city. While the city government have already been issued 100 stores permits.

According to mayor, who was inaugurated on February 17, 2016, the permits have been granted will be reevaluated after the grant period runs out.
