The Ministry of Health awarded the Government of Tabalong District for an innovative Movement of Entering the Forest to Combat and Stemming Malaria (or what called as Gema Bersinar Malaria) it had carried out.

The award in the form of Malaria Elimination Certificate from the Minister of Health was presented on the commemoration of World Malaria Day 2022 in Mandalika Resort, Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara, Tuesday (31/5).

Head of Tabalong Health Office Taufiqurrahman Hamdie representing Tabalong Regent to receive the certificate from Director-General of Disease Control and Prevention (P2P) Maxi Rein Rondonuwu, who represented the Minister of Health.

Gema Bersinar Malaria is a breakthrough made by the Tabalong government to systematically eradicate malaria through education, prevention, until the stage of treatment to the community.
 
Regent of Tabalong H Anang Syakhfiani expressed his pride and gratitude for the appreciation from the Health Minister for the hard work of many parties to eliminate malaria in the distric.

"Thank you for the hard work of the Health Office with the support of sub-district heads, village heads, religious and community leaders, because in the midst of limited facilities we can minimize malaria in the community," said Anang .

He also hopes that the achievement have been made can be further improved in the future.

"It is achieved by hard work and cooperation," he added. 

With Gema Bersinar Malaria since 2015, data on malaria case had reduced significantly. From previously Tabalong in the red zone, now in the green zone.
