The Indonesian Navy (TNI AL) under operation control (BKO) of the Second Fleet Command's Sea Combat (Guspurla Koarmada II) has evacuated passengers of KM Ladang Pertiwi 02 ship which had a sea accident in Makassar Strait a few days ago.

"Victims are all safe and are taken to Kotabaru on boarding (Navy's warship) KRI Sultan Hasanuddin-366 and anchored at Pelindo III Kotabaru Port, South Kalimantan," said Commander of KRI SHN 366 First Admiral Denny Prasetyo here on Tuesday.

He said the four victims were evacuated to the Kotabaru Navy Base on consideration that the distance was closer to the location of victims were found.  

KM Ladang Pertiwi 02 departed on May 25 from Koitera Port of Makassar, Pamantauang Pulau Lima about 100 miles from the Pulau Laut area, Kotabaru.

Initial infomation said that 43 victims were survived, 17 of them had been evacuated by people's boat, but10 to 12 of the victims had not been found.

"Until last night, a search was still carried out involving three elements, namely KRI Malahayati, KRI Mandau, and KRI Pulau Rupat, and tomorrow morning a Cassa aircraft will be brought to monitor a possibility of any victims who can be saved," he said.
