North Hulu Sungai (HSU) District, South Kalimantan, took part at the International Handicraft Trade Fair (INACRAFT) 2022 which was opened by President Joko Widodo at the Jakarta Convention Center (JCC), Wednesday, March 23, 2022. 

INACRAFT, which is the premier international exhibition of gifts, handicraft and housewares in Indonesia, this year's theme Smiling Heritage of West Java; From Smart Village to Global Market'. 

A total 722 participants took part in this biggest craft exhibition in Southeast Asia, 510 were individual participants, 169 were of government fostered participants, and 43 were fostered by state-owned enterprises (BUMN).

Deputy Chair of the North Hulu Sungai chapter of the National Handicraft Council (Dekranasda HSU) Erlian Noor Fauziah said that this is a momentum for HSU to introduce its crafts at the INACRAFT 2022 which take places from 23 to 27 of March, 2022.

"We introduce our local products, including (crafts made of) grey sedge grass (purun), water hyacinth, red rattan, and sasirangan. Hopefully we are widely known both nationally and internationally," she said.
 
Erlian also hopes that related government working units (SKPD) to find other ways of promotion through internet, socmed, and media publication. 

Acting Head of HSU Cooperative, MSME, Industry and Trade Agency (Diskuperindag) Muhammad Yani said that the government continue to develop local craftsmen so they can produce quality and innovative products.

"Although we have  abundant of crafts products, but other regions continue to develop increasing their capability and innovation. If we don't develop our human resources we will lose," he said.
