Cement producer PT Indocement Tunggal Prakarsa, Tbk Plant Tarjun, Kotabaru, South Kalimantan, carried out reforestation around the Lowo Cave tourist attraction in Kusan Kelumpang Hilir Sub-district.
"It is to commemorate World Environment Day which is the concern of many parties to maintain the biological ecosystem, so they are always sustainable for life in the future," said Chief of Tegalrejo Village Syarifuddin in Kotabaru Tuesday.
According to him, Indocement Plant Tarjun has planted thousands of trees of various types in several areas, especially around work areas, in order to provide education and improve the quality of the environment.
In Langadai Village, among others, PT ITP planted trees in Lowo Cave acotourism area in Tegalrejo Village, Kelumpang Hilir Sub-district. The types of trees planted here were trambesi and Angsana.

Cantung Forest Management Unit (KPH) representative Dani Prasetyo highly appreciated the planting by PT ITP. According to him, an ecosystem is very dependent on its environment, and the plants are needed primarily for oxygen function needed by humans.
"We hope that in addition to protecting the environment, it is also beneficial for the community, so they continue to maintain a beautiful and sustainable environment," he said.
Management of PT ITP Tarjun, H Teguh Iman Basoeki said tree planting is the 8th activity of the company in 2021 as a follow-up to the planting program in previous years.
