Kotabaru, South Kalimantan (ANTARA) - The Kotabaru, South Kalimantan, DPRD Speaker Suwanti together with Deputy Regent of Kotabaru Syairi Mukhlis conducted Ramadan Safari at Masjid Besar Nur in Pulau Laut Timur Sub-district.
"This is a form of our support to the regional government's program," she said here on Wednesday.
Suwanti said the aim of safari was to build communication with the community and strengthening silaturahmi or good relation.

Thus, the community are expected to support the development of sub-district and the region toward achieving the vision of making Kotabaru a better, dignified, and superior region.
The DPRD speaker also encouraged the community, in addition to fasting and tarawih, to enliven Ramadan by reciting Al-Qur’an in mosques and musholla (smaller than mosque).
Suwanti emphasized the importance of multiplying worship during Ramadan and this is also an opportunity to strengthen silaturahmi.
"Ramadan is also a moment to accomodate people's hopes and aspirations for the future development," she said.
On that occasion, DPRD speaker also handed over several assistance, including a program to renovate unhabitable house for the local community.
