High rainfall in the last few days resulted in the tributary of Tapin River overflowing and the water has inundated houses inhabited by 65 families in Taibah Hamlet, Banua Halat Kanan Village, Tapin Utara Sub-district, Friday. 

"The water that submerged the residential areas has disrupted people's daily activities because their houses dan road are swamped," said Head of Tapin Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD) Said Abdul Nasir. 

The condition as it was reported at 16.00 p.m. that the flood water level was around 10 to 50 cm.

Tapin watershed (DAS) Tapin was on the first alert, however, the Tapin Dam in the upper part of the river was still in normal condition. 

"Alhamdulillah Tapin Dam is safe, the water is still at the elevation of 144.69, not overflowed yet and we still accommodate. In fact, in the last few days water level has been quite high," said commitment-making officer (PPK) Amir Rahman to ANTARA.
