The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resource (ESDM) assisted fishermen in Banjarmasin with gas-fueled engines (BBG).
"As many as 55 fishermen in our area received assistance from the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resource," said Acting Mayor of Banjarmasin H Hermansyah, Tuesday.
The handover of the assistance of machines in the distribution program of conversion of the oil-fueled machine (BBM) to gas-fueled machine (BBG) package from the ministry was held at the Food Security, Agriculture, and Fisheries Office (DKP3), Tuesday.
The Inspector of Medium Oil and Gas Yudi Indarto of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resource's Directorate General of Oil and Gas attended the handover.
According to Hermansyah, the conversion package received by each fisherman from the Partnership Program of the ESDM Ministry and House of Representative's Commission VII consisted of two 3 kg LPG canisters, one boat engine, and fishing gear.
Hermansyah hopes that fishermen to properly use the package of assistance have been received and expected they can help reduce the impact caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
To distribute the conversion package to fishermen, the Ministry of ESDM also cooperates with PT Pertamina (Persero).
