PT XL Axiata Tbk (XL Axiata) in collaboration with the regional office of Ministry of Religious Affairs (Kemenag) distributed free internet data packages for up to 137,000 madrasah (Islamic school) students for distance learning.
"The distribution is carried out in stages since mid-September in various region, including Banjarmasin, Banjarbaru, and Palangkaraya," said XL Axiata Group Head Central Region Rd. Sofia Purbayanti, Thursday.
XL Axiata, she said, continues to strive to support the government by assisting the implementation of online learning, especially by providing solution to community problems in the internet data packages.
"Hopefully, all madrasah students and teachers in South and Central Kalimantan take an optimum benefit of this support. We also ensure the quality of this data and internet service for the smooth running of distance learning," she said.
Sofia added that in each data package, students and teachers get a 30GB data package they can use for two months.
The distribution of this free data package to students and teachers is carried out by each school in coordination with the Kemenag local office in their respective province.
The donation of data packages is done by prioritizing underprivileged students who need internet access for online learning activities.
