Residents caught in the operation to enforce the discipline of wearing masks in North Hulu Sungai (HSU) were allowed to choose the type of sanctions.
Various sanctions were given, such as push up, sweeping the street, leading a prayer, as well as a fine of Rp100,000.
"Earliner there was a mother who was secured because her child did not wear a mask. She preferred to pay fine that other sanction," said a Public Order (Satpol PP) officer in the Babirik Terminal area, Tuesday.
However, the officers could not bear to impose the fine and let the mother went by giving her a free mask.

The person in charge of enforcing the HSU Regent Regulation Number 37 of 2020 Jumadi said that even though the officers had enforced the regulation, but the sanctions given were still light and citizens were given the freedom to choose sanctions.
"But later on the next operation (violater) will be subject to heavier sanctions and even a fine of IDR100,000," he said.
During their in Babirik Sub-district, officers nabbed dozens of residents who were not wearing masks. Some of them brought masks, but did not wear them properly and were caught.
Although the team has carried out socialization of the Regent Regulation No.37 of 2020, there are still residents who did not know the regulation.
