PT Indocement Tunggal Prakarsa, Tbk Plant Tarjun, Kotabaru, welcomed Idul Adha 1441 Hijriah by giving away 28 sacrificial cows to the community in the surrounding area of the company.
Indocement Tarjun Plant General Manager Retnawan Widhiantoro said on Friday 10 out of 28 cows were from the company, while the other 18 came from the participation of employees and families.
The 10 cow were then distributed to partners villages, namely Tarjun, Langadai, Serongga, Tegalrejo, Pulau Panci, Sidomulyo, Simpang Tiga, Sungai Kupang, Cantung Kiri Hilir, and one cow alloted for journalist community of Kotabaru.
While 18 cows were managed by Indocement employees to be distributed for people around.
Such an activity, he said, was a routine in every year since the cement plant began in 1998 and continued to be done.
To provide sacrificial animals is a realization of the company's pillar in socio-cultural and religious, one of the five pillars in developments that have become the company's policy to be carried out sustainably.
“Beside Tarjun Plant, Indocement also distributes sacrificial animal at the head office and Bogor Citeureup Plant 30 cows and 3 goats, Cirebon Plant 153 goats, the Lombok terminal 2 goats and 1 cow, also Cigading warehouse 6 goats,” he noted in a press release.
The slaughter of livestock continued to apply COVID-19 health protocol as recommended by the government to break the chain of virus transmission. "The company appealed to the village government and the committee to pay attention to these matters,” he said.
Head of Cantung Kiri Hilir village Riwinto said, he represented all residents of partner villages expressing gratitude for the company's concern for the surrounding residents.
“We pray even in difficult times like now ITP can continue to operate smoothly, employees can work well. So we from partners villages can receive even more assistance,” he said.
In line with that, the Head of Langadai Village Sutrisno expressed his gratitude to PT ITP for the help and care given so far.
