The central government will disburse IDR13,4 billion through additional regional incentive funds (DID) for the economic recovery of Banjarmasin City in the midst of COVID-19 pandemic. 

The Banjarmasin Financial Agency (BKD) head Subhan Nor Yaumil here on Tuesday (July 28, 2020) said, the additional DID to be used as stimulus fund to help micro, small, and medium businesses as well as tourism sector affected by COVID-19.

For example, the city government will provide capital stimulus to tailors to produce cloth masks. The products are then purchased by the government to be distributed to the public.

The same thing will be done to the tourism sector and others, who affected by the pandemic, with the hope they will immediately rise to follow the adaptation of the new normal.

Previously, Mayor Ibnu Sina at webinar through a video conference said he was optimistic that the COVID-19 pandemic would soon pass, even though it took time and discipline.

Moreover, six of 52 urban villages in Banjarmasin have entered the green zone.

"With the assumption that there is no more case in a week, and the old cases have recovered, that is the indicator," he said.

While he hopes the tourism sector, with the support of the system, including resources and all relevant parties, continue to prepare to reopen.

"Many want to come to Banjarmasin, especially after launching the agenda of events in Bali. That what makes them really want to go to Banjarmasin, but because of the current condition, eventually, all of this is delayed," he said.
