People in the Island of Kerayaan, in the village of Kerayaan and Kerayaan Utara in the Pulau Laut kepulauan Sub-district, Kotabaru, appealed their government to provide electricity and senior high school for them.
They spoke to the Regent of Kotabaru H Sayed Jafar and his staff in the forum silaturahim (gathering) in the Pulau Kerayaan village, Sunday (Jan 26, 2020), where some agencies officials, legislators, head of sub-district, and the Sub-district Leadership Coordination Forum also attended.

One of Kerayaan Utara resident said, people in his village, inhabited by about 50 families, have been a long time not yet enjoying electricity in their homes.
"We ask the regent and related agency to help us find the solution, so the community here can enjoy electricity like other citizens," he said.
Other resident delivered, currently, the community in the Pulau Kerayaan want to have a senior high school (SMA), because about 60 percent of them had only studied in junior high school (SMP) for the reason they cannot afford to send their children to school outside or to the city.
Responding to his people's aspiration, Regent H Sayed Jafar said, the local government will go down to record poor residents to help them to have electricity.

While for high school, he acknowledged, it needs a long process as it is no more the authority of regency but the province. But he promised to prepare a proposal, including land for school and other needs, to propose to the provincial government.
"Indeed there are many problems faced by Kotabaru, because of its very large area, anyway slowly but surely it has begun to change, in tourism, road infrastructure, and others," said the regent.
