The University of Lambung Mangkurat (ULM) fully support the National Movement to Save Indonesia's Natural Resources that have been echoed by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK).

To realize the support, ULM together with KPK held a dialogue with a theme "Evaluation of the National Movement to Save Indonesia's Natural Resources" at the Hall of Rectorate in Banjarmasin.

ULM Rector Prof Dr H Sutarto Hadi said felt grateful this matter got the attention of the KPK, considering South Kalimantan is a region rich of natural resources, thus it is time for all parties to start looking for strategic steps to avoid corruption. 

"The initial steps could begin by educating students and the public as well, such as (through) this dialogue. The theme of the dialogue is very important, especially for South Kalimantan," he remarked.

The KPK launched the rescue movement of Indonesian natural resources which covers the sector of maritime, mining, forestry, and plantation.

Deputi chairman of KPK Laode Muhammad Syarif stated that all parties should have commitment to make effort in the rescue of Indonesian natural resources and in the eradication of corruption in it.

"KPK puts more emphasize on the level of prevention, so there will be no more overlapping of licenses or illegal mining that are free to operate. All must be curbed until there will be no more corruption in it," he pointed out.

The resource persons in the dialogue were Grahat Nagara from Auriga Foundation, Kisworo Dwi Cahyono from Wahana Lingkungan Hidup (the Indonesian Forum for the Environment), Ahmad Fikri Hadin from ULM, and Sulistyanto from KPK's RD Directorate.
