About 30 meter of road in Balangan, South Kalimantan, has collapsed with a depth of up to 2.5 meter and taken up more than half of the road. The local Public Work and Spatial Planning (PUPR) predicted it need IDR3.6 billion for repairment.

Head of the agency, Tuhalus, said the damage to the road in Matang Lurus Village, Lampihong Sub-district, is quaite severe. 

"It's quite severe. From six meter width of the road it only left about 2.5 meter of not effected, while the crack still increases," he said to Antaranews, Monday (Oct 7, 2019).

The agency can not use maintenance fund to handle the damage, or to deal it instantly, especially it occured to paved road, it need special care in order the road construction will not be in vain.

"The possibility is it will be prioritised in 2020, while for the quick handling we will  conduct security of the location, install roadblock, so people should be careful when passing," he pointed out.

Meanwhile, Head Section of Technical Guidance Bina Marga of the Balangan PUPR Agency Rina Ariani predicted from the damage that is visible it need about IDR3.6 billion.

"The damage caused by natural condition. For the repairment in the future we will intall pile slab on the side road, and the budget to propose is about IDR3.6 billion if the DPRD approves," Rina said when she came to witness the collapse, Monday.
