The South Hulu Sungai (HSS) Regent H Achmad Fikry was the only regent in Kalimantan nominated to win the 2019 Innovative Government Award (IGA). He directly delivered his presentation in the Interior Ministry (Kemendagri).
Head of the HSS Communication and Informatics Agency Hendro Martono in Jakarta, Wednesday (Sept 25, 2019), said IGA is an award given to the most innovative region using mechanism measure of innovation index.
"Not any regent or mayor given the chance to deliver presentation in the assessment. It only for head of region whose innovation in the big 10 of 2019 IGA nomination. HSS has recorded 62 innovation registered in the Interior Ministry," he remarked.

He added, the ministry carried out the assessment as mandated in Article 388 paragraph 9 of Law No 23/2014 on Regional Administration.
After passing through several stages, HSS became the only district to represent Kalimantan and nominated in 2019 IGA.

Regent HSS H. Achmad Fikry said, innovation is the spirit of thinking of what it should be not what it is, thus we are not trapped in routinity and this mindset has been implemented
in theDistrict of HSS.
"With its innovation HSS has succeeded in lowering the number of poverty and increasing the growth of economy," he said in his presentation in the ministry's command center infront of Head of the ministry's R&D and juries which consisted of experts from UCLG ASPAC, LAN, Ristek Dikti and LIPI.
