Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan 29/5 (AntaranewsKalsel) - Head of Banjarmasin Public Works and Spatial Agency Gusti Ridwan Sofyani revealed that a concrete siring or embankment begins to be built on Veteran River.
"This year plan is about 300 meters concrete siring is built on the Veteran River," he said in Banjarmasin on Monday.
According to him, the development of Veteran River , located in the central till the east Banjarmasin, had experienced suspended animation for decades because it was closed by the buildings owned by citizens.
The construction of a two-kilometer-long concrete embankment is the government's step to normalize the river, and it is done directly by the River Hall.
"After successfully released it, now we do normalization or restore its function as a river," said Gusti Ridwan.
The construction of concrete siring at Veteran River this year cost around Rp 7 billion with funds sourced from the State Budget (APBN),
"The width of the river will be made seven meters, with a depth of about two meters, so it will cost a lot," explained Gusti Ridwan.
