Batulicin, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - Tanah Bumbu Health Agency will improve health services in rural areas using Special Allocation Fund (DAK) it received from the central government in the amount of Rp1.9 billion.
Head of the agency H. Damrah in Batulicin on Wednesday said the funds to enter this year will be used to build the Teluk Kepayang Community Health Center (Puskesmas) in Kusan Hulu Sub-district, and the construction of medical waste installations.
"So far, the local community are treated with very limited health facilities, and later with the construction of the puskesmas which is funded through DAK funds services can be maximized," said Damrah.
In addition to DAK, the Tanah Bumbu Health Service received funds of IDR 160 billion from the district government through the local budget (APBD) to improve the welfare of medical personnel in the puskesmas.
The government program in improving health services is as much as possible for all communities to be served at the puskesmas level, so that they do not need to go far to the hospital.
"This is a serious step by the local government in providing services to the public in the health sector, even in the past few years there have been around five out of 14 puskesmas being upgraded to become nurses' health centers," he said.
