Banjarmasin, S Kalimantan (Antaranews Kalsel) - South Kalimantan Governor Sahbirin Noor hopes that road damage at the Trisakti Port of Banjarmasin will soon be repaired to facilitate the flow of goods transport.
The governor in Banjarmasin on Monday said he had instructed the South Kalimantan Public Works and Spatial Planning Agency to immediately coordinate with relevant parties to improve the existing road in the port area.
If in accordance with the provisions and authority of the provincial government, he added, the relevant agencies are asked to make improvements. "But it still must refer to the applicable regulations," he said.
According to him, the public sector, especially the facilities at the center of the economy, such as ports, must receive serious attention. The port is one of the gates of the people's economy which is very strategic to facilitate the flow of goods and services.
Previously, the governor made a visit to Trisakti Harbor and checking around all port facilities. He took time to dialogue with port workers and the Trisakti Port Organda (Organization of Land Transportation Owners) and had a meal with them.
Chairman of the Organda Unit of Trisakti Port Suhainoor thanked the governor for checking the road conditions in the port area.
Some of their aspirations were conveyed, including requests for road repairs around the port. Suhainoor also expressed the importance of the smooth flow of diesel fuel.
Previously the governor saw off the shipments of aid for earthquake victims in Central Sulawesi. "I saw off the relief ship for earthquake victims in Central Sulawesi, after that by a car driving around in the port area. Seen a number of roads in poor condition," he said.
