Banjarmasin, (Antara) - Barito Putera's management and coaching team clarified the occurrence of chaos when hosting PSMS Medan at the 17 Mei Stadium in Banjarmasin, Sunday (7/10).
Barito Putera Assistant Manager Syarifuddin Ardasa at a press conference in Banjarmasin on Monday said two points that triggered the chaos after the match based on his observation.
First, he said, after the long whistle ended the match one of the opposing players Alexsandros Tanidis provoked a Barito's player Matias Cordoba.
"There was a jostling between the two, but it was normal and could be divorced, even other players were not provoked. Here we have video evidence," Syarifuddin said.
The second, he said, when he and assistant coach Yunan Helmi protested the referee after the match because they felt was disadvantaged by the judge's leadership in the match which ended 3-3.
But at that time, he said, suddenly the Medan PSMS coach came and did a provocative attitude towards Barito's assistant coach Yunan Helmi. "Medan PSMS coach Peter James Butler somehow did an act of pushing to assistant coach Yunan Helmi, even his elbow hit Yunan Helmi's chin, and we have a photograph of the event," said Syarifuddin.
The provocative attitude of the PSMS coach, he said, sparked the emotions of a number of Barito Putera players, until the atmosphere was out of control, which caused chaos.
"When the incident happened there were two security teams from provost there, we didn't know any more after that, it turned out that the PSMS trainer claimed to have been hit," he said.
According to Syarifuddin, the PSMS coach's claim was extremely excessive, causing his team to be harmed until it was threatened with sanctions.
"We will write to the PSSI for the PSMS coach's statement, regarding him being hit by a player, we will explain the case-by-case chronology," said Syarifuddin.
He also stated, Barito Putera did not have a problem with the PSMS Medan, because when the team did away games there was welcomed well.
Meanwhile, Barito Putera's coach assistant Yunan Helmi added that his party apologized for the incident, which made the PSMS team feel uncomfortable when competing at Barito Putera's home.
"This is an incident that we didn't expect and didn't want, so we apologized for everything," Yunan said.
