Banjarbaru, S Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - Syamsudin Noor Airport Authority increases security to ensure the safety of flights after a bomb terror in the city of Surabaya, East Java.
"Security is done internally and externally to ensure the security of flight operations," said Wahyudi, the Airport General Manager, in Banjarbaru on Sunday.
According to Wahyudi, who was accompanied by Operation Manager Rully Artha, the security measures taken include increasing patrols of Aviation Security officers together with the Air Force (TNI AU).
The joint patrols are conducted in the airport public areas both at the departure and arrival terminals, airport perimeter, and a number of flight safety facilities (airnav).
"Officers patrolled inside and outside the airport including patrols on the perimeter or guardrail surrounding the airport as well as facilities for flight safety," Rully said.
Security is also done on vehicle access to the airport entrance (toll gate) and air side by doing random inspection of cars and drivers.
"Aviation Security officers with security from the Air Force use security facilities such as under mirrors to check cars randomly when entering the airport," he said.
He said all operational and flight schedules of the aircraft at the airport were running normally without any obstacles, but vigilance remained improved until the atmosphere was considered safe.
