Banjarbaru, S Kalimatan (ANTARA) - The Syamsudin Noor International Airport Management in Banjarbaru city stated that flight schedules ran normal on Saturday (September 30, 2023) from morning until afternoon.
Stakeholder Relation Manager of the state airport operator PT Angkasa Pura I Syamsudin Noor International Airport Iwan Risdianto said six to eight flight services have operated normally from morning 06.00 Wita till afternoon.
"Today's visibility is in the range of 500 to 600 meters still allowing airline flights to be on schedule,” said Iwan when confirmed in Banjarbaru, Saturday night.
He said the flight without delay was based on the recommendation and approval of air navigation officers.
“Even though smog has enveloped the airport this morning, we are coordinating with air navigation to determine whether the thickness of the smog disrupting or not,” he said.
Previously, on Friday, Iwan said five flights were delayed due to the thickness of haze. Based on the air navigation officers' monitoring air visibility had only reached 300 meters.
The flights cancelled were Citilink Air QG 483 going to Jakarta shifted from 06.00 to 07.02 Wita, Lion Air JT 311 to Surabaya also delayed from its schedule 06.10.
Super Air Jet IU 625's flight to Jakarta delayed from 06.00 to 07.07 Wita, Lion Air JT 529's schedule 07.00 shifted to 07.26, and Wings Air IW 1394 going to Balikpapan was delayed from 06.35 Wita to 07.35 Wita.

Iwan said the thickness of haze on Saturday was different from Friday, so none of the flight schedules were delayed from morning until afternoon.
Regarding Sunday's flight schedule, his side cannot confirm it while in the stage of monitoring for potential thickness of haze.
“Officers are still monitoring the thickness of haze this night until tomorrow morning,” said Iwan.
