Rantau, S Kalimantan (AntaranewaKalsel) - When visiting Tapin District to open the 29th Karang Taruna's Tent for Social Service (KKBWKT) in Rantau Baru, South Kalimantan Governor H Sahbirin Noor was tempted by the local typical fabrics, sasirangan.
After opening the event, which was attended by thousands of youth organization Karang Taruna members across South Kalimantan and inaugurated Karang Taruna Provincial Board for the period of 2017-2021, the governor who is popularly called Uncle Birin directly went to the Tamasa Gallery.
The gallery is a showroom for many typical Tapin handicrafts. Here Uncle Birin bought up as many as 16 pieces sasirangan fabric with a typical Tapin motif.
"The Governor had bought 16 pieces of fabric sasirangan with a variety of Tapin typical motifs," said Head of Tapin Industry Agency Abdul Hadi.
From here, the Governor went back to the Rantau Town Forest Estate, where Karang Taruna activities took place. Uncle Birin went straight to the Karang Taruna Pudarta Hiyung village stand, which filled with Hiyung Chilly plants and it processed products.
"This Chili is really amazing, it must really be developed and we'll do training to the farmers," said the Governor.
On that occasion, the Governor again brought two Hiyung Chillytrees that have been fruiting to be planted in his residence.
On the same occasion, Regent Tapin HM Arifin Arpan explained at this time the district begins to harvest the onion.
"Later we invite the Governor to participate in onion harvest," he said.
