Rantau, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - Heath Office in Tapin, South Kalimantan, is currently being alert to the potential increase in acute respiratory infections (ARI or nationally known as ISPA) cases due to changing weather condition during transitional season.
Head of the Office Noor Ifansyah said that air condition is currently hot, dusty and poses a risk of triggering respiratory problems in the community.
"The weather is unpredictable, hot and dusty. This could increase this risk of ISPA. We will consolidate with all levels to ensure health service and education run optimally,” he said in Rantau, Tapin District capital, Friday.

Ifansyah urges people to maintain their immune system by applying clean and healthy lifestyle and to immediately check themselves to health facilities if they experience symptoms of cough, fever, or short breath.
"Be alert to symptoms of cough, cold, or shortness of breath, immediately seek treatment at the nearest health facility to prevent a serious condition," he said.
Meanwhile, Acting Director of the Datu Sanggul Rantau Regional Hospital (RSUD) dr Widhi Susanto said there has been no significant increase in ISPA cases in the hospoital throughout 2025.

“This year's data is still being recorded by the Hospital Medical Records (CMRS). We will provide further information later,” he said.
However, Widhi acknowledged, there has been an increase in the number of patient visits to the emergency room (ER or locally known as UGD) with various complaints in the last three months.
“There has been an increase of patients in the ER, but the cases vary, not predominantly ISPA,” said Widhi.
