Martapura, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - Crime detective unit (Satreskrim) of Banjar Police crippled a specialist theft by force (curat) by shooting both of his legs.
Chief of the Banjar Police Adj Sr Comr (AKBP) Takdir Mattanete in Martapura on Friday said that the recidivist who was shot has initial RI aka Ahong (20), a mugger or jambret specialist.
"Satreskrim officers were forced to cripple the suspect by shooting both legs for trying to fight and intend to escape when he was about to be arrested on Thursday night (6/7)," he said.
According to police chief, who was accompanied by Head Unit of Crime Detective Adj Comr (AKP) Sofyan, the suspect had done crime action in 2015 at Sungai Danau, which is in the jurisdiction to Tanah Bumbu Police, South Kalimantan Regional Police.
In addition, the perpetrator along with his associate RO, who is still in pursuit by police, allegedly also held a mugging action in the neighboring province of Central Kalimantan.
"We are still developing cases of crimes have been committed by suspect with his colleague and allegedly they are inter-province muggers and stealing by force," he said.
The suspect are subject to violations of Article 363 of the Criminal Code with a maximum penalty of 7 years imprisonment for theft with force.
