Banjarmasin, S Kalimantan 6/7 (AntaranewsKalsel) - PT Pelindo III Banjarmasin continues to develop several ports in the province, such as Kotabaru and Batulicin ports, to support the improvement of service and regional economic growth.
Pelindo III Banjarmasin General Manager Fariz Hariyoso here Thursday said the development of ports in the region as an effort to boost economic growth, as well as improve services for the community and investors.
"We will continue to improve the service of loading and unloading of goods and inter-islands and inter-provinces delivery of various commodities, and even to various countries," he said.
Development of Kotabaru and Batulicin port will be able to reduce the queue of loading and unloading flows in Trisakti Port of Banjarmasin. In addition to reducing the distribution of basic needs between provinces, it also can be directly conducted in the two districts.
Currently the government is building Swarangan Port in Tanah Laut District to facilitate the process of transporting various export commodities produced by this area.
Meanwhile, PT Pelindo III continues to equip port facilities with a variety of sophisticated equipment, which is able to push the loading and unloading speed of goods from ships to transport has been prepared.
According to Fariz, to support the loading and unloading activities, the company already has 6 units of container cranes (CC), 16 rubber tyred gantry cranes (TRG) and will be added with 6 others sent from Semarang by the end of this year.
"In addition, we also add some other supporting tools to facilitate the unloading of goods," he said.
The addition of loading and unloading tools is to balance the current high activity at Trisakti, which is increasing every year, reaching an average of over 30 thousand boxes per month.
South Kalimantan's economic growth currently puts Pelindo III Banjarmasin as a very busy port in Indonesia.
