Kotabaru, South Kalimantan (ANTARA) - The Kotabaru Organization of Civil Servants' Wives (DWP) held a disaster literacy, especially about fire prevention and preparedness, for its members in their meeting recently.
Kotabaru DWP Advisor Siti Hadijah said the material for this month's routine meeting was very relevant and important to be understood together.
“We realize that fire disaster often occur suddenly and have a significant impact, both materially and psychologically," she said in Kotabaru, Thursday.
That is why basic knowledge and skills in fire prevention and emergency response are very important for every family, especially mothers as household managers.

This activity was said also as effort to educate women about the danger of fire and the independence anticipation efforts in residential environment.
“I hope with this dessimination we can all be more prepared and responsive in facing emergency situation, and be able to be educational agents for the surrounding. Let us continue to increase the active role of DWP not only in supporting husband, but making a real contribution for the environment and community,” she said.
The prevention and prepredness to domestic fire was presented by Head of Prevention and Preparedness of the Kotabaru Public Security and Order-Fire Department Agency (Satpol PP-Damkar) Donald Oharra Sinaga, ST, MM.
He said this activity was very appropriate because it was directly related with mother's daily activities. He shared tips on how to put out fires.
In addition, socialization about Women's Mental Health was provided by dr Thomas Hendriko, M. Ked (KJ), Sp (KJ). He expounded that being a strong mother requires a healthy and stable mentality.“Remember, maintaining your health is the main priority, so that the family remains healthy and happy,” he said.
