Kotabaru, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - The Regent of Kotabaru, South Kalimantan, H Muhammad Rusli inaugurated the new chemotherapy room at Pangeran Jaya Sumitra Regional Hospital to improve health services.
The Regent said that chemotherapy is a rare service, not all hospitals have it.
"On behalf of the regional government, we will continue to support and help improve hospital services in coming days," he said here on Tuesday (June 2, 2026).

He emphasized that whatever the shortage of facilities, either medical equipment or medical personnel, the local government will continue to support and meet the needs.
Acting Director of Pangeran Jaya Sumitra Regional Hospital dr. H. Andi Karsapin Tarsan expressed his gratitude for the Regent's presence at the opening of chemotherapy building. This new service building is rare throughout Indonesia.
"Alhamdulillah we have one specialist doctor Muhammad Amin, an oncology specialist which is a rare in Indonesia and he is a native of Kotabaru and a civil servant," he said.
The inauguration ceremony was concluded with a review of the facility by Regent H Muhammad Rusli, Regional Secretary, Assistant I for Government and Social Welfare, Assistant III for General Administration, heads of SKPDs, as well as doctors ad officials of Pangeran Jaya Sumitra Hospital.
