Kotabaru, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - The district government of Kotabaru is committed to strengthen public communication in digital era and encouraging synergy in issue management, one of which is by attending the 2026 Public Communication Summit organized by South Kalimantan Communication and Informatics Office.

Head of the Kotabaru Communication and Informatics Office (Diskominfo) Gusti Abdul Wakhid stated that Kotabaru is committed to and fully support effort to strengthen public communication and synergize issue management in digital era.

‎‎"We are ready to collaborate with provincial government and all other regencies/cities. Ensuring government communications are in the public interest, protecting reputation of institution, and supporting the realization of a progressive and competitive Kotabaru," he said in Kotabaru on Wednesday.

The district government will strengthen coordination between the regional apparatus organization (OPD), Diskominfo, and stakeholders to respond to strategic issues quickly, transparently, and based on data.

Head of South Kalimantan Diskominfo H Muhammad Muslim said this forum served as a platform for disseminating various information to the public, including relevant regulations.

"This also relates to the 2024 Minister of Communication and Informatics Regulation Number 4 concerning the Implementation of Government Affairs in the Field of Communication and Informatics," he said.

This forum is expected to increase understanding of public communication strategy in digital era, where flow of information and issues is rapid, the most widespread of which is developing on social media.

“Hopefully this forum will answer on how to develop important strategy to address communication issues,” he continued.

Acting Provincial Secretary H. Subhan Nor Yaumil said that the 2026 Public Communication Summit is crucial to build a cmmon understanding among stakeholders, both provincial and district/city government across South Kalimantan, regarding public communication management in digital era.

"We must first map out the direction so we can deliver policies through open dialogue in cyberspace effectively,” he said.
