Kotabaru, South Kalimantan (ANTARA) - Pulau Laut Utara Sub-district's Kafilah (Caravan) won overal champion at the 55th National Quran Recitation Competition or Musabaqah Tilawatil Quran (MTQ) for the district level of Kotabaru in 2025 took place in Pulau Sebuku Sub-district.
Head of the Kotabaru Office of the Religious Affairs Ministry H. Ahmad Kamal thanked and highly appreciated all parties who contributed to the 55th MTQ ran smoothly.
"This is all thanks to all parties cooperation, especially the leadership communication forum (Forkopimca) and companies in this region, ASDP ferry transportation for adding routes," he said in Sebuku as reported on Thursday.

Musabaqah Tilawatil Qur'an, he said, is not carried out by individuals or agencies, but cannot be separated from the attention of the Regent, regional government of Kotabaru, the Office of Religious Affairs Ministry, and all stakeholders involved.
MTQ is a place of silaturahmi or good relation while evaluating and developing reading and writing of Al-Qur'an, the art of reciting Al-Qur'an and understanding the Tafsir of Qur'an.
"Musabaqah is not just achievement, but the essence is that we continue to foster enthusiasm, provide motivation for useful activities from the art of reading Qur'an, education, coaching, training and learning," he pointed out.
The best kafilahs or caravans will represent Kotabaru at the MTQ provincial level of South Kalimantan.
"The best participants of this MTQ will become the Kotabaru caravan contingent for MTQ at South Kalimantan level to be held in 2026 in Barito Kuala District," he said.
Meanwhile, the latest LPTQ Regional Working Meeting with sub-district heads, heads of KUA, and general secretary of sub-district and district LPTQ agreed that the host of the 2026 MTQ or the 56th MTQ would be Pulau Laut Selatan Sub-district with a reserve of Pulau Laut Timur Sub-district.
