"This prohibition has been stipulated in Tanah Bumbu Regional Regulation (Perda) Number 2 of 2021 concerning Illegal Fishing," he affirmed in Batulicin Tuesday.
Said Ismail said that the bylaw must be implemented and complied. If anyone is proven to have committed illegal fishing, he will be threatened with six months imprisonment and a fine of IDR50 million.

He assessed that the current conditions are beginning to become vulnerable to perpetrators of eletric shocks, poison, and fish bombs. So, he urged all parties to keep the fish ecosystem well maintained.
"Whatever the form, either eletric shocks, poison, and fish bombing in fresh or salt waters is part of illegal fishing," he stressed.
He really hopes that illegal fishing perpetrators to hand over their stun fishing equipment voluntarily, so they will receive a reward in return on conditions that they must promise not to do that again.
"Let us together protect the habitat and ecosystem of freshwater fish in Bumi Bersujud (Tanah Bumbu's nickname) so that they don't become extinct," he asked.
The DPRD member who is also activist for prohibition of illegal fishing also shares tips to catch fish properly and correctly, one of which is fishing or catching fish without destroying their habitat.
