Barabai, S Kalimatan (ANTARA) - The government of Central Hulu Sungai (HST) District, South Kalimantan, has succeeded in lowering stunting to 13 percent and exceeding the national target of 14 percent by 2024.
Regent Aulia Oktafiandi here on Friday said based on the Indonesia Health Survey's (SKI's) in 2023, HST has significantly reduced its stunting rate from 31.01 percent in 2022 to 13 percent by the end of 2023.
“The national target is to reduce stunting rate to 14 percent in 14 persen, it means that Central Hulu Sungai Regency has succeeded in meeting the target and even exceeded it,” he said.
Even though it has reached the national target, he said, HST government will even be more active in reducing stunting rate to below 13 percent until it reaches zero percent.

“I would like to express my gratitude and appreciation to all level of the local government, related agencies, as well as community who have contributed to the reduction of stunting rate in HST,” he said.
The achievement of reducing stunting rate by 18.01 percent, he pointed out, was the result of the hard work of all parties who continue to intervene. Here Health Office, Social Service, and stunting reduction acceleration team played a major role in decision making.
He reminded that the award winning is not only achievement but a capital in facing increasingly challanges in the future.
To this end, Aulia emphasized that the regional government is ready to facilitate all activities and need related to programs to reduce stunting in Central Hulu Sungai to zero percent.
“By working together all parties in reducing stunting, I am sure that HST will not only be the best in South Kalimantan, but also at the national level,” he said again.
