Banjarbaru, South Kalimantan (ANTARA) - The University of Lambung Mangkurat (ULM) produced 400 entrepreneurial students, who came from 10 universities, after they attended the 2023 Wirausaha Merdeka (Independent Entrepreneurial) program at this leading campus in South Kalimantan.
"The Independent Entrepreneurial for one semester from August to December 2023 has succeeded in producing 400 students with various business skills," said ULM Deputy Rector for Cooperation, Public Relation, and Information System Yusuf Azis in Banjarbaru.
He expressed gratitude to the team who managed the program as well as partners who were on board this year's participants.
Yusuf hopes that alumni of this Wirausaha Merdeka program would increase their productivity in the fied of entrepreneurship, so they can grow into reliable entrepreneurial pioneers and open new employment for the wider public.
ULM for two years consecutively had been chosen as the organizing university or facilitator of the Wirausaha Merdeka program.
This year, ULM facilitated approximately 400 students from 10 universities, including ULM itself.
The other nine are STIKIP Paris Barantai Kotabaru, Tanah Laut State Polytechnic, Sari Mulia University, Hasnur Polytechnic, Muhammadiyah Banjarmasin University, Ahmad Yani University, Balikpapan University, SKIP PGRI Sumenep, and Makassar State University.
Wirausaha Merdeka is one of the implementation of the Education, Culture, Research, and Technology Ministry's or Kemendikbudristek's Merdeka Belajar-Kampus Merdeka (Freedom in Learning, Freedom in Kampus or MBKM) program.
In this program, students have the opportunity to learn and develop themselves into potential entrepreneurs through joint activities outside of lectures, so they will become brilliant entrepreneurs in the future in addition to academic competence.
