Martapura, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - Banjar district government oversees every foreign workers (TKA) to ensure their presence meet the rules and regulations.
Head of Ideology Security and National Precautions of Banjar Nation and Political Unity Office (Kesbangpol) Fathul Jannah here on Thursday said her agency has come to a coal mining company.
"We went to PT Merge Minning Industry, one of the foreign company from China engaged in coal mining in Rantau Bujur Village, Sungai Pinang, Tuesday (27/9)," she said.
The visit involved the Manpower and Transmigration Agency to oversee foreign workers who work in a underground coal mining company.
The visit was also to implement Home Affairs Minister Decree No 49 and No 50/2010 on the monitoring of foreigners, surveillance of foreign organizations and foreign workers.
She said, so far PT Merge has been very good reported the number of foreign workers who work in the company, but checks still being done to make sure the amount correct or not.
"We are not only receiving data, but down to the field to monitor and prevent the illegal entry of foreign workers that can lead to social effects," she said.
Head Banjar Manpower and Transmigration Agency Aspihani said, the central government to the region issued strict regulations for foreign workers who work in Indonesia.
He insisted, the policy was done to make sure companyemploying foreign workers who have competence and expertise to suit the company's needs, but still employ local labor.
"That is, not to let arrival of foreign workers toclosing the job for local workforce and the presence of foreign workers also must obey the applicable labor regulations," he said.
Head of PT Merge Mining Engineering Winarno said, the current number of foreign workers who are all from China as many as 35 with a ratio of one TKA against three local workers.
