The reservoirs in the 100 hectares area of the Banua Botanical Garden will be for water reserves in the South Kalimantan provincial government office center.
"The function of reservoir to store water during the rainy season and in dry season it can be used as a source of water so there is no drought for the neighborhood," he said.
According to him, the presence of reservoir also serves to fertilize mixed species of plants which begun to flourish, especially rare local typical trees.
"The plants and rare trees such as ironwood, meranti and other medicinal plants can absorb water from the reservoir, so they become more fertile and fast to grow," he said.
He said, the construction of reservoirs in the botanical garden area is also to increase the function of public facilities, so that people can be more comfortable to visit the place.
