Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - Green Community Forum (FKH) Banjarmasin re-planting ornamental trees and greening trees in the attraction area of Siring Tendean, Martapura River bank Banjarmasin city, to beautify the location.
"Today's action is only a patchy, namely replacing the dead trees which planted earlier," said a member of FKH Zany Taluk and Ulul Azmi Kurniasari at the site of action on Saturday.
Trees planted in the location adjacent to the View Tower (Menara Pandang), among them were Tanjung flower, tamarind trees, durian, rambutan, and palm daughter.
"We've planted different species of trees in the area, including the ivory palm, but after evaluated many dead, so we planted again," said Zany Taluk.
According to them, Siring (river embankment) Tendean, where there is also a floating market, is the most visited area. About five thousand people come here per week, but it looks barren, though has been greening both by government and FKH.
"If the area is green and shade certainly visitors will feel comfort, we FKH always committed to make this area beautiful and green," said Zany Taluk taking tools to replant some trees.
FKH itself is a support organization for Banjarmasin as a green city and has been planting thousands of trees throughout the city, including some tourist sites and places of worship.
