Kotabaru, South Kalimantan (ANTARA) - The Kotabaru Penitentiary has established cooperation in waste management with the Kotabaru government through the Environment Office (DLH).
The cooperation agreement was inked by Head of the Kotabaru Penitentiary Yosef Benyamin Yembisse and Head of the Kotabaru Environment Office Muhammad Maulidiansyah.
The signing which took place at the Operational Room of the Kotabaru Regent Office was attended by Kotabaru Regent Sayed Jafar and Regional Secretary Said Akhmad.
“We hope the local government will be involve in fostering waste management in the Kotabaru Penitentiary,” said Head of the Kotabaru Penitentiary Yosef Benyamin Yembisse here, Wednesday.

Yosef said that this cooperation agreement is an important step in efforts to improve waste management in the penitentiary.
"The important point of this coperation agreement is about waste management and fostering inmates," he said.
Waste management, he pointed out, is part of life building activities for inmates in the prison, whose nickname "Blue Campus"
Cleanliness coaching is applied here to realize and preserve a healthy and comfort life. "Cleanliness is also a sign of good hygiene," he said.
Previously, the Kotabaru Penitentiary and the DLH had cooperated on garbage transportation. After several years, they both inked a cooperation agreement on waste management.
