Kandangan, South Kalimantan (ANTARA) - South Hulu Sungai (HSS) Regent H Achmad Fikry said that TNI Integrated Village Development (TMMD) is a form of strong synergy between TNI and the community.
"We hope that TMMD will be a major contribution of TNI in regional development," said Regent H Achmad Fikry who was inspector of ceremony at the opening of the 117th TMMD 2023 of the 1003 HSS Military Command (Kodim) in Kandangan, Wednesday.
He said TNI engagement in developing and increasing the quality of life of people is an achievement that deserves a thumbs up.
He insisted the important of active community participation in TMMD activities, and invited all element of society to play a role in regional development.
Either by providing ideas, energy, and resources in an effort to strengthen the integration of TNI and people through TMMD program.
"We urge all people to support each other and work together to achieve common goal, because TMMD involves the community, a form of strong synergy between TNI-Polri and the people," Fikry pointed out.
"In TMMD we really feel the spirit of mutual cooperation, TNI and Polri work hand in hand with the people, including in cooking," he said.
He thanked the TNI and Polri and all stakeholders in building the spirit of togetherness, increasing national insight and building national and state awareness through the TMMD program.
The Kodim 1003/HSS's 117th TMMD is held in Paniungan Hamlet, the area in the hinderland of HSS that still need infrastructure improvement and increased accsess to basic services.
The location is in Malilingin Village, Padang Batung sub-district. TMMD lasts one month from July 12 to August 10, 2023.
A total of 150 personnel of TNI and Polri were deployed to make it work.
One of the program's physical work is to build a 1,530 meters long and four meters wide road which was previously a footpath, so that the hamlet will be connected to the neighboring Tapin District and can be passed by four wheeled vehicles.
Othe targets of the 117th TMMD include health service, education, legal counseling, community empowerment, and renovation of places of worship.
