Kandangan, South Kalimantan (ANTARA) - Head of South Kalimantan Forestry Office Hj. Fatimatuzzahra said that the area and distribution of critical land in the province has decreased significantly and the largest reduction is in South Hulu Sungai (HSS) District.
Fatimatuzzahra was speaking at the socialization of the province's Green Revolution Movement which was attended by sub-district heads and villages head throughout HSS in Kandangan, Tuesday.
"We really appreciate the HSS Regent and his rank who have been working and cooperating optimally in forest and land rehabilitation activities," she said.
She asked that all parties to consider to have obligation to plant and care for trees, as well as to minimize forest and land fire, encroachment and forest and land conversion with the Green Revolution Movement.
HSS Regent H Achmad Fikry said that Green Revolution Movement is an important and strategic to increasde awareness and concern about how important it is to protect the environment.
"We certainly fully support the program organized by the South Kalimantan Forestry Office," he said.
Fikry advised the sub-district heads and village heads to make the best use of the activities by submitting what is needed in each district and village.
Take advantage of Green Revolution Movement as a very large potential to be developed. They who own the land it is possible to make BUMDes produce in the long term, seeds are ready and available for free, and deliver to land points directly, he said.
"After this activity, we through the Public Housing, settlement Areas and Environment Office (Dispera KPLH) will reschedule tree planting activities at points of need," said Fikry.
